Munford decathlon state champ Christian Perez is headed to Lemoyne-Owen

Before his senior track season started, Munford’s Christian Perez had heard of the decathlon but really didn’t know exactly what it was. Turns out it was his ticket to a college scholarship. Covington baseball advances to seventh state title game

In Covington's first two state tournament games, there was very little drama as the Chargers jumped to early leads and held on. Friday's game vs. Tennessee High was a little different. The Covington baseball team took a big step Wednesday afternoon toward advancing to its seventh state title game and winning its fourth state title. Christian Perez wins state decathlon while multiple athletes qualify for Tuesday’s state meet

It's been quite a last couple of weeks for the Munford High boys' and girls' track and field teams. On May 19 and 20 in Brentwood, senior Christian Perez became the first Munford track athlete to take first at a state meet when he won the decathlon.
