A community in mourning: Prayer service held in Covington to honor young victims

In a show of solidarity and faith, members of the community gathered in Frazier Park Wednesday to invoke the power of God and seek protection over Covington in the wake of several recent tragedies. Greater St. John M.B. Church asks street to be renamed for late pastor T.J. Lewis

On Tuesday, Covington’s Public Works committee was presented with a request to rename one of its streets in honor of a recently-deceased pastor.  The members of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church penned a letter to the mayor’s office requesting Shelton Street, on which the church is located, be changed to T.J.
