The Covington baseball team took a big step Wednesday afternoon toward advancing to its seventh state title game and winning its fourth state title. Covington broke open a close game with three runs in the top of the third and scored in all but one inning en route to a 9-2 win over Tullahoma at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro. Christian Perez wins state decathlon while multiple athletes qualify for Tuesday’s state meet

It's been quite a last couple of weeks for the Munford High boys' and girls' track and field teams. On May 19 and 20 in Brentwood, senior Christian Perez became the first Munford track athlete to take first at a state meet when he won the decathlon. Lady Cardinals take two from Munford to win district championship

Entering Wednesday afternoon's District 14-AAA tournament title game, or games, as it turned out, Brighton needed to beat Munford twice to claim the title.
