Former Hollywood starlet Ina Poindexter Ashley, a Covington native, dies at 89

A Covington native who made a name for herself in Hollywood has died. Ina Claire Ashley passed away in Nashville on Aug. 3 following a brief illness, her obituary reported. Dennis Richardson, owner of Magic Valley Publishing Co. and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away suddenly and peacefully at his Camden home on Monday, July 26. Tipton County is second in the state for COVID cases per capita

The number of active COVID-19 cases continues to rise at an alarming rate in Tipton County. On Wednesday, Tipton County ranked second of the state’s 95 counties for cases per capita, which sit at 20.4 per 100,000. Only Crockett County, with 28.1, was ahead.
