
COVINGTON – The Tipton County NAACP invites the community to come together for a vibrant celebration of freedom, family, and unity during its annual Juneteenth event, scheduled for Saturday, June 14, at Frazier Park in Covington.
Running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the “Juneteenth Celebration in the Park” promises a day full of festivities, with food, games, music, health screenings, and a variety of vendors.
Highlights of the day will include classic activities like corn hole and line dancing, as well as opportunities to shop from local vendors, donate blood, and have your blood pressure checked.
The celebration will take place at Frazier Park, located at 412 Long Avenue in Covington. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
Juneteenth, observed on June 19, commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. It became a federal holiday in 2021 and is celebrated nationwide with festivals, educational events, and gatherings.
