The 28th annual Heritage Festival kicks off this weekend.
As a Heritage Festival tradition, Saturday’s festivities will begin with the traditional Roll ‘N Stroll children’s parade around the historic court square. This year’s parade, sponsored by the Tipton Christian Academy Preschool, is themed “Pirates and Princesses.” The parade begins at 9 a.m. and participants are asked to meet in front of the post office, at the corner of South Main and Church streets, at 8:45 a.m.
Local Boy Scouts will lead a color guard in the parade, the Tipton Line Dancers will be dressed to the theme, and bands will also be part of the event as well.
The Simonton Wilcox Camp #257, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Maria Baker Lemmon Chapter of the Order of the Confederate Rose, Daughters of American Revolution and 39th Living History Associates historical groups will be present at the festival. River City Chapter – Daughters of the American Revolution will have displays at south end of courthouse on Saturday.
Historical tours of the square will also be given. See page _ for more information. See World War II vehicles, and a static display will be around the downtown footprint of the festival.
Bid in the silent auction Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the Chamber of Commerce office at 106 West Liberty Avenue.
Twisted Mr. Rogers, Balloon Artist will be onsite creating free balloon art for families.

TN River Artist Blacksmiths Association-West will be set up on East Pleasant Avenue both Saturday and Sunday.
Check out the pumpkin patch in the Depot District with plenty of fall photo opportunities. Play cornhole? There will be a cornhole tournament Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Depot District.
