Winter Storm Closures and Delays: Feb. 2, 2023

Several closures and delayed openings have been reported due to the ongoing ice storm. Here’s the current list (new additions since the last update are highlighted):

School related closures

  • Tipton County Schools – closed Thursday
  • Tipton Christian Academy – closed Thursday
  • Tipton Rosemark Academy – closed Thursday
  • Dyersburg State will operate virtually by Zoom on Thursday; faculty and staff will work remotely; all classes will meet as scheduled via Zoom

Businesses, non-profits, and events

  • Atoka Family Dentistry – closed Thursday
  • Cannon Chiropractic – closed Thursday
  • Dr. Bob Dalsania – closed Thursday
  • Erwin’s – closed Thursday
  • First Friday Coffee – rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 10
  • May Medical – operating via telehealth Thursday. Call 901-837-7200 and leave a message with the answering service. Someone from a blocked number will call to schedule you.
  • The Neighborhood Tutor – closed Thursday
  • Sew Squared LLC – opening at 12:30 p.m. Thursday
  • Simply Nutrition – opening at 9 a.m. on Thursday
  • Stitching Store – closed Thursday
  • Theo & Roe’s has announced it will be closed all week; doors will reopen on Monday, Feb. 6

Local government & utilities

  • Town of Atoka – open at noon on Thursday
  • Tipton County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Assessor and Trustee’s offices – opening delayed until 10 a.m.
  • Tipton County Chancery – court proceedings cancelled Thursday, clerk’s office opens at 10 a.m.
  • Tipton County Circuit & Juvenile Courts– delayed until 10 a.m. Thursday
  • Town of Brighton – delayed opening (10 a.m.) Thursday
  • The City of Covington – delayed opening (9 a.m.) Thursday
  • Covington Sportsplex and Aquatic Center – delayed opening — Sportsplex will open at 9 a.m., Aquatic Center will open at 3:30 p.m.
  • The City of Munford – delayed opening (9 a.m.) Thursday
  • Tipton County Museum – opening at 9 a.m. Thursday
  • Tipton County Public Library – closed Thursday
