Three of Tipton County’s elementary schools have earned Reward School status.
Brighton, Munford and Drummonds elementary schools earned the designation because they demonstrated high levels of performance and/or improvement in performance by meeting their annual measurable objectives across performance indicators and student groups.
The Reward school distinction places significant emphasis on improvement from the prior school year, the Tennessee Department of Education said.
“Tennessee students, families, educators, and school communities have worked hard to overcome a variety of challenges stemming from the pandemic and I congratulate them on their efforts,” said Commissioner Penny Schwinn. “Our teachers and school and district leaders focus on helping students improve every day and we will continue to focus on student achievement, as well as growth, so that all students are set on a path to success.”
Crestview Elementary was targeted for support and improvement, which means that group success rates were lower than others in its pool of schools.
Schools spanning 92 districts received designation as a Reward school, and 16 districts received designation as an Exemplary district.
Tipton County Schools is an Advancing district, which is second on a scale where exemplary would rank first.
TCS, led by Director of Schools Dr. John Combs, is comprised of 14 schools from Pre-K to 12th.
