Two people died in separate accidents this weekend, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported Tuesday.
On Friday night, a pedestrian was struck and killed near the intersection of Glen Springs Road and Gary Cove.
The victim was not identified by the THP, and they have not released details on the accident, but they name 27-year-old Kimberly T. Parrish of Drummonds as the driver. The victim was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala driven by Parrish, who was uninjured.
Three days later, 32-year-old Thomas P. Woods of Millington was killed when he was thrown from the 2003 Chevrolet Suburban he was driving east on Simmons Road.
According to the accident report, the vehicle left the roadway while in a curve to the left, then began spinning counter-clockwise. After leaving the road and ejecting Woods, it came to its final rest facing north.
The trooper investigating the wreck said speed was a factor. Additionally, the report indicates Woods had been drinking and was not wearing a seatbelt.
