Shame on Tipton County

Friday night, Jan. 31, I had a wonderful evening of laughing at the Ruffin Theater enjoying “Southern Hospitality.” The play kept you laughing with a very talented cast who worked and practiced for a couple of months prior to opening night.

The Ruffin Theater is a very historic landmark and I was sad to see the attendance at 17 people and a understanding of this being the fourth performance with such poor attendance. The cast donated their time and talents with heart and soul into this production and it was very disappointing to see that Tipton County has a great place to go and take their family and yet didn’t care enough to support this great art.

We will lose this Ruffin Theater if we don’t show more support.

I always hear that there is no place to go and nothing to do. But yet there is great entertainment and you can take your family in the middle of Covington.

Let’s step up and save the Ruffin and support the hard working men and women and children who make up the casts of these great plays. Let’s make Tipton County proud and I’ll see you at the Ruffin!
