On July 23 at about 9:10 p.m., Covington Police Department officers responded to the
area of Frazier Park in Covington to multiple shots being fired.

Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by the victim, Davian Rudd, 27, of Brighton who reported he was sitting in his truck in the park when he heard shots being fired. He saw people running and then glass breaking in his back window. The victim stated he returned fire at the suspects.

The victim’s truck was struck multiple times resulting in damage. Officers and detectives located multiple rounds at the scene. Evidence from the scene indicated the suspects were using rifles. Officers confirmed no one was injured in the incident.

Witnesses described the suspects as two individuals who had walked up between the buildings at Frazier Park and began shooting. The motive for the incident is not clear.

“We are fortunate that no one was injured in the shooting,” said Covington Police Chief Donna Turner. “We are asking anyone who may have information on the suspects to assist us. Detectives are working to obtain any video surveillance from the area to help identify the suspects.”
