Unlike pink skies or pink waterfalls in other locations, Jacks Creek’s water didn’t have pink lights announcing the sex of the babies, but they were wrapped in pink blankets, if that counts. Melburn and Earlene Bailey Jones had a baby girl, Rhonda Karen Bailey (Shumate) born July 22, 1954. Six years later little Karen helped welcome to the “Creek” another Jacks Creek baby girl cousin born on July 22, 1960. Deborah Kay was the second baby born to Howard and Fran Creasy Bailey. These births weren’t announced around the world, but these two babies were considered “crown jewels: to their parents! Happy birthday wishes go to Karen and Deborah – you are not a “royal pain” to your community, if that counts as a verbal gift! Ha-ha.
Folks are busy filling freezers and canning fresh veggies from the garden. Jacks Creek and other communities have had several nice showers that are helping gardens and farmers. We are blessed to be eating these fresh veggies. Remember when mothers gathered to can fresh veggies for school pantries, so students would eat good healthy food all year long? Times have changed for sure!
Prayers have been requested for Cherrie Hunt Pipkin, and continued prayers are asked for Lucy Burgess. Lucy reported having a great week with good support. Thanks are extended to all.
I hope your week will be blessed.
