On Sunday, members of the Gilt Edge Church of Christ held a bi-monthly service at Covington Manor. The attendance was seven members and 12 residents. The residents who came to the service were in good spirits and enjoyed a good fellowship.
Friday marked the fiftieth anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy. Over the weekend, I asked several people in the Gilt Edge community, “Where were you when you learned of the shooting?”
Many said they were in school, but did not fully comprehend what had happened, while some people said they were at work listening to the radio and in shock. Nov. 22, 1963 will forever be in the history books.
