Hope you’re all doing great!
Wow- have we had some up and down weather! Our deadline is getting earlier and earlier so today is Sunday. It’s been 61 degrees here in goodole T-County today. My, my, that’s nice!
I can handle weather like this on a daily basis, except the fact if we have temps like this every day, the fleas won’t die and they are my worst enemy. I am highly allergic to fleas! I don’t say I “hate” many things, but I hate fleas. Once one bites me, then I itch with it for at least a month to six weeks. So actually, I am thankful for these cold days. The only thing is, my folks don’t want to get out when it’s so cold and I don’t blame them!
Papah (Mr. Vernon) had a birthday this past Friday the 24th, I know I said happy birthday to him at the beginning of the month, but just in case he didn’t see my article, we’re gonna say “happy birthday” to him again. After all, he deserves it, as he just turned 94! And he is proud of every year of it!
Also, today is Darlene Lovett’s birthday. Happy birthday, Darlene (Lene-Lene)!
We have set the Springfest date. It will be May 3, with a rain out date set for May 10. As always, it will go from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. here at the center. Please mark your calendars now because we’d love to have you come and participate. We’ll also have our cake auction, so be thinking about making cakes, if you don’t mind. Any kind would be great, just put on them with tape or write on them so we will know what kind they are. May 3 is on Saturday, so hopefully most of you can come!
I do have one room available (1/2 bath) and one suite, which is a two-room, full bathroom suite. If you know of anyone who is in need of a place to retire, please tell them about Dunlap Retirement Center. You can reach me at 476-7014. If I am out of the office, please leave me a message and I’ll get right back with you as soon as I return.
I am so very appreciative of all the people who tell me they read my article. I have one long lost (I thought) friend who I had not seen or talked to for nine years and when I ran into her the other day, she told me she reads my column every week. It was such a wonderful surprise! Thank you Diane, it was so great to see you again after such a long time!
Well, until next week, you all take care of each other, check on your neighbors when it’s really cold and let them know you are there for them.
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with you all this coming year!
