February 10

The Master Beef Producer Program, offered in collaboration with UT Extension, is an extensive educational program that was developed to provide information to assist Tennessee cow-calf producers improve the profitability of cow-calf operations. This is a multi-county program and will be attended by fellow cattle producers in neighboring counties. 

It will be taught at 208 Hope St., Bolivar, at The University of Memphis Bolivar Campus. The program will be held on Monday and Thursday nights beginning Feb 10 and concluding on March 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.

 

February 15

A concert titled "A Night of Country Music" will be held at the Ruffin Theater in Covington at 7 p.m. Featuring David Bradley, Vanessa Winter, Mike Watkins and Southern Music Project, the concert will benefit the Carl Perkins Center in Covington. Tickets are $10. Call 476-1515 for more information. 

 

February 26

A biodiesel production demonstration will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tennessee College of Applied Technology. College professors from Tennessee State University will be on hand and lunch is included. Contact Becky Muller at 476-0231 or beckymuller@utk.edu to register.

The Faith That Works reading program, which has a goal of increasing reading comprehension and speed through faith and secular resources, needs volunteers to instruct participants ages 5-18. The program meets every Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Covington Housing Authority community building, located at 702 Jackson St. Call 901-652-2765 for more information. 

 

The Tipton County Dunham Lodge #150 F&AM, located at 113 E. Washington St. in Covington, holds its monthly meeting on the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and is open to friends and family. Practice is every Monday at 7 p.m. Call 901-490-2753 for more information.

 

Helping Hands meets the first Thursday of each month at the home of Christine and Larry Knight, 253 Elm Grove Rd. in Burlison. 

 

Ransomed Riders Chapter of CMA meets the fourth Monday of each month at Los Reyes Mexican Restaurant in Atoka. Meal at 6 p.m., meeting at 7 p.m. For more information call Phil Cathey at 388-8145.

 

The Covington Sportsplex offers the following classes: step, stabilizer, Zumba and Vinyasa yoga.  For more information call 476-3734. 

 

Scrapbooking the 3rd Friday of every month from 6 - 11p.m. at Redeeming Grace Lutheran Church, 1496 Munford Ave, Munford.  $5/snack, drink and door prize. Student support services are provided free! Call Barb Frison 837-6587 for table space.
