The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into the conduct of a former Brighton police officer has resulted in indictments against him being handed down by the Tipton County grand jury earlier this month. He was summoned to court on the charges.
Jimmy Hubbard, 25, of Brighton, was indicted on July 8 on one count of theft of property, one count of casual exchange and one count of official misconduct. While serving as a Brighton Police Department officer, Hubbard met a female on duty while she reported to the Brighton Police Department that she was being stalked by another individual. Hubbard developed a relationship with her, exchanged a Lortab pill with her for sex and engaged in sexual activity with her at her residence while on duty. He also gave her seized evidence from the police department. He has since resigned from his position.
The 25th Judicial District Attorney General requested TBI to investigate Hubbard in February of 2013.
