The Brighton FFA Chapter was well represented at the Regional Parlimementry Procedure and Ceremonies CDE competition held recently.
The ceremonies CDE team placed third in West Tennessee.
The FFA Ceremony CDE is a competitive activity that allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-life situations.
The event is limited to freshman FFA members only and includes learning the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies, proper public speaking skills, use of voice, stage presence, power of expression and proper appearance and working cooperatively in a team.
Team members were Grant Hunter, Noah Bowers, Gabby Cooper, Mackenzie Curtis, Megan Gray, Bennett Boberg Ethan Dent, Jacob Chandler, Nathan Fisackerly and Megan Gray.
The Parliamentary Procedure team was third in West Tennessee. The Parliamentary Procedure CDE tests students’ ability to effectively communicate ideas during a meeting. Components included a general knowledge exam of parliamentary law, a 10-minute demonstration of parliamentary procedure, oral questions and written minutes of the demonstration.
Team members were Patrica Brownsberger, Beca Breckenridge, Addie Davis, Maddy Murphy, Brittani Wise, Johnathon Dunn, Brianna Wise, Rylee Gray, Marylaine Flanagan, Ariel Noneaker and Tisha Lynn.
