Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton has acquired a GE LightSpeed VCT computed tomography imaging system to provide highly detailed images of the human body while reducing radiation exposure to patients and improving physicians’ ability to diagnose patient conditions.

Manufactured by GE Healthcare, the LightSpeed VCT CT scanner provides doctors with high-resolution images in a fraction of the time previously required and enables them to more accurately diagnose a wider variety of patient conditions.

The LightSpeed VCT scanner is providing numerous benefits to Baptist physicians and patients. Some of the patient benefits include reduced radiation dose, faster and more accurate scanning, faster patient exams, less patient stress, greater flexibility, and better displays and images. Physician benefits include more control over procedures with variable-speed scanning, higher-speed scanning, and clearer, sharper images.

“Our new LightSpeed VCT scanner enables us to help physicians effectively diagnose or rule out life-threatening conditions with a simple, non-invasive procedure,” Jamie Rodgers, administrator and CEO of Baptist Tipton, said. “At Baptist, we are committed to offering advanced technology to help ensure our patients receive high-quality care.”
