If you have been one of the fortunate ones to have seen the sun, you’re blessed. Having spent the weekend in Hot Springs, the sun was only out briefly. My daughter, Sherri, granddaughter, Addie, and I had a girls’ weekend out, and the lack of sun did not stop us from shopping and getting massages and pedicures. The rain on Sunday slowed us down a little, but there was entertainment everywhere; Addie's favorite was the magic show. Staying at the Arlington Hotel was a treat; the building needs restoring, but the service was terrific. Driving home Monday was no fun in the rain, but boy, did home look good!
Military museum yard sale
Friday and Saturday, June 13-14, there will be a yard sale located at 10021 Old Memphis Road, in Atoka, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds will be used to build a pad for our Huey helicopter and to restore the chopper. All donations to the museum are tax deductable. If you would like to donate any items, contact Bob McFarland at 901-837-2921. Items that have been donated to the museum displays will not be sold. If you would like to set up your own table, we would be glad to have you; we ask that you make a donation from sales to the museum. We are also urging people in our area from Atoka-Idaville to Highway 14 to have your own yard sale at the same time, that way there will be plenty of sales to visit. Hope to see you there!
