All six county teams play in district tourneys this week

People looking to catch some postseason basketball games involving all six Tipton County teams will have their opportunity this week and next at Haywood and Hardin County high schools as district tournaments get going.

District 15-AA action gets started tonight at 6 in Brownsville in the girls' semifinals as fourth-seeded Haywood takes on top-seeded Covington. The second semifinal, pitting third-seeded North Side against second-seeded Liberty, follows at approximately 7:30 p.m. 

The boys get started Friday night as Haywood, which is 26-0 and seeded first, takes on the Covington-Jackson North Side winner at 6 p.m. The second semifinal follows with second-seeded Liberty against the Ripley-JCM winner. 

The girls' consolation and title games will be held Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. The boys' consolation and title games will be held Monday at the same times. 

Brighton and Munford will take part in the District 13-AAA tournament at Hardin County High School in Savannah. 

Girls' action gets started tomorrow night with top-seeded Dyer County taking on fourth-seeded Brighton at 6 in the semfinals. 

The second semifinal, pitting second-seeded Hardin County against third-seeded Munford, follows at approximately 7:30. 

The title and consolation games will be played Monday night at the same times. 

The boys begin Saturday night when fourth-seeded Brighton takes on regular season champ Dyer County at 6 p.m. Third-seeded Munford and second-seeded Hardin County follow at 7:30. 

The title and third-place games will be played at 6 and 7:30 on Tuesday. 

Admission each night is $6.
